The Dutch Thompson archive provides a unique and richly-detailed  presentation of daily life on Prince Edward Island in the early-to-mid 1900s. As Island seniors share their recollections with Dutch, a wealth of stories pours forth about farming, fishing, food, home remedies, rum running, the transition from horse to auto, times of war and Depression, and a host of other topics to numerous to mention. In this "Stories" section of the site, we will offer feature highlights on various themes and topics represented in the Thompson archive, with suggestions for further research.
