Reg Grady was born and raised in the Priest Pond area of Prince Edward Island. He was known for repairing violins and fiddles at night. Reg had a well respected uncle who received medals, gold watches, and other thanks for his effort in saving sailors when a Soviet barque shipwrecked at Priest Pond in 1908. His uncle even managed to save the ship's dog.
