Abstract
This interview is with James Augustus "Gus" Gregory of Souris, P.E.I. Gus begins by telling about accidents at sea, the first draggers in the area, and local fish plants. He then talks about life on the draggers, the decline in fish numbers, and tuna fishing. He tells about rum running, fast cars, bootlegging in Souris, and liquor permits during the prohibition. Next, Gus tells about his service in the army during WWII, fighting in the trenches, snipers, and being wounded in 1945. At the end of the tape Gus talks about working in lumber camps near Truro, Nova Scotia.
