Abstract
This is a lecture by Dr. Padraig O'Siadhail titled "The Great Famine 1845-52 and Irish Folk Tradition", where he discusses potatoes and different varieties of potato, failure of potato crops and the impact on Irish people and their potato dependency. The lecture also discusses oral tradition, over drinking, religious beliefs, stigmas surrounding famine and other scenes and stories about the Irish potato famine.
