Queenie Mackinnon was born in Earnscliffe, Prince Edward Island. She relocated to the Cross Roads area upon her marriage to Robert Mackinnon. There she helped her mother in law Lettie Mackinnon as a midwife, and also helped with the duties of running the dairy farm. Queenie was also known for keeping a diary since she was a child in the 1920s.
